Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tall collar and triple-beaded rim, the front featuring the stenciled advertising "W.D. COOPER & BRO / No. 7 / DIAMOND / PITTS.". Wavy stripe decoration to base. Spout decorated with numerous cobalt dashes. A rare Western PA advertising form. A Y-shaped line on underside, which continues onto base, where it forms a second Y. A shallow 1/2" chip to side of spout. A glazed-over 5/8" chip to side of rim. A few minor in-the-firing flaws to surface.
