Small-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Rose Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and "wax sealer" rim, the front decorated with a stenciled design of crossed rose featuring leafy stems. A 1/2" hairline from rim, not extending onto interior. Heavy chipping to interior of rim. A 1" surface line at base, continuing 3/4" onto underside, not visible on interior. A 3/4" hairline to base, not visible on interior. H 6".
