Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA N.Y.", New York State origin, circa 1880, large-sized, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed and slip-trailed design plant design featuring large leaves surrounding a flower. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Numerous small chips to both handles. Rim chips. Some light exfoliation to reverse. A 4" hairline from rim on reverse. Some light wear to cobalt. Small base chips. H 13 1/2".
