One-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD, circa 1820, ovoid jar with squared rim and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a horizontal tulip motif. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 2 3/4" loss to rim. A 2" in-the-firing contact mark to one side. A minor, 1 1/2" in-the-firing contact mark to opposite side. A long horizontal crack at base. Base chips.
