Three-Quart Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base and semi-squared rim, decorated around the body with four flowers emanating from leafy stems. Brushed swag decoration to collar and flanking the spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with only minor flaws. Some in-the-firing discoloration to handle, a minor in-the-firing contact mark to reverse, a small in-the-firing ping to spout, a minuscule spout nick, and a minuscule base nick.
