Very Fine Small-Sized Stoneware Jar with Impressed Floral Decoration, Stamped "PEACHES", attributed to Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, impressed on the front and reverse with the word, "PEACHES". An impressed and cobalt-highlighted daisy blossom appears below both inscriptions. Larger impressed and cobalt-highlighted daisy motifs appear on the left and right sides of the jar. Excellent form, size, color, and condition. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Excellent condition with a shallow 3/4" flake to exterior of rim, and other small flakes to exterior and interior of rim. H 7 1/2".
