Two Double-Handled Stoneware Jars with Alkaline Glaze, Crawford County, GA origin, late 19th century, both of squat, ovoid form with applied strap handles at the shoulder, the larger example with pronounced collar molding. Each covered in different-colored alkaline glaze. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Larger jar with one handle broken into two pieces, including a restored chip to handle, as well as two small rim chips, a chip to opposite handle, and an in-the-firing separation to underside, not visible on interior. Other jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of taller jar) 10".
