Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Gemel, probably New Haven, CT origin, circa 1830, pair of conjoined, ovoid jugs with tooled spouts and central ribbed handle, each decorated with a brushed circle and dot design. Brushed cobalt highlights to spouts and juncture of jugs and cobalt stripes to handle. Unusual scoring to top edges of spouts. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing crazing to surface at base of handle. H 8 7/8".
