Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Elaborate Cobalt Flowering Urn Decoration, Stamped "WHITES BINGHAMTON", New York State origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a pedestal-based urn brimming with flowers and leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Significant restoration to reverse, one side, and base of churn. Long unrestored crack extending from base through decoration on front. Some fry to cobalt. In-the-firing contact mark near base on side of churn.
