Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware "Top Hat" Canning Jar with Misspelled A.P. Donaghho Stenciling, Parkersburg, WV origin, circa 1875, small-sized, semi-ovoid canning jar with tooled shoulder and wide rim with wax sealer interior, featuring the stenciled signature "A.P. Donoghho, / Parkersburg, W. Va.". This example features Donaghho's desirable "top hat" form as well as a scarce misspelling of the potter's name with an "o" instead of an "a". Two chips to outer edge of rim. A chip to interior of rim. Small chips and nicks to inner wax sealer rim. A few faint surface lines to underside. H 5 1/2".
