Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Foliate Motif, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, decorated with a stenciled foliate design between two freehand stripes. 5" spider line on left side of jar. Two tight faint lines to rim. Tight spider line on underside. A small chip to shoulder molding. A tiny base nick. A small chip to interior of rim. A tiny nick to inner wax sealer rim. H 8 1/4".
