Two Slip-Decorated Redware Plates, American, second quarter 19th century, both with coggled edges, one decorated with heavy yellow-slip striping, the other with wavy yellow-slip stripes flanked by dashes. Provenance: Collected in the Long Island, NY area. Stripe-decorated plate with wear and in-the-firing flaws to slip as well as rim chips. Other plate with rim chips and some surface wear to interior. Diameter (of stripe-decorated plate) 8 5/8".
