Two Glazed Redware Jars, Huntington, Long Island, New York or Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840, an ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied handles, and flared rim, decorated with manganese daubs and covered in a heavy lead glaze; paired with a cylindrical jar with tooled midsection and flared rim, decorated with manganese sponging and covered in a clear lead glaze. Shorter jar with heavy wear and chips to rim, base chips, wear to handles, and some wear to glaze on midsection. Taller jar with glazed wear to rim and lighter wear to surface, as well as a small in-the-firing stone ping to base. H (of shorter jar) 8 3/4".
