Exceptional Slip-Decorated Redware Teapot Lid, Pennsylvania origin, early 19th century, domed lid with coggled edge, heavily-decorated with trails and spots of cream, green, and brown slip. Brushed brown slip highlight to top of finial. Original pierced steam hole at shoulder. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor in the early 1990s. Two large pieces of lid broken off and reglued. Minor wear to tip of finial. Some small chips along crack line. Diameter 4".
