Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT", circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a leaf with spotted tip. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Restoration to surface on front, reverse, and rim, not affecting decoration. Several small rim chips.
