Glazed Redware Jar with Copper Slip Decoration, attributed to Nathaniel Seymour, West Hartford, Hartford County, CT, late 18th or early 19th century, cylindrical jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder and flared rim, well-decorated with a haphazard copper slip brushwork over a reddish-orange ground. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, recently found in the Midwestern U.S. Exfoliation to some slip decoration. Rim wear. 3/4" base chip and other minor base chips. H 8 1/4".
