Roanoke, Virginia Stoneware Advertising Jug with Bail Handle, American, early 20th century, Bristol-slip-glazed jug with wood-and-wire bail handle, featuring the elaborate advertising "THE WOODWARD CO. / PURE WHISKIES, BRANDIES, WINES, ETC. / FOR HOME USE / 2 STORES / 29 SALEM AVE. WEST / 114 SALEM AVE. EAST / ROANOKE, VA. / SEND FOR PRICE LIST". A small base chip on front and reverse. Some in-the-firing crazing to surface and light staining. H (to top of jug) 9 1/2".
