Fine Stoneware Frog Mug with Odon, Indiana Inscription, John H. Folks, Loogootee Pottery, Loogootee, Indiana, circa 1880, cylindrical mug with applied handle, the interior base with molded and applied figure of a frog (or more accurately a toad) with impressed eyes and incised details to mouth and feet. Surface covered in an Albany slip glaze with accents to today. Body of mug incised "The Pride of Odon Their Oldest Settler". Excellent condition with a chip to end of each front foot, possibly in-the-making. H 2 7/8"; Diameter 3".
