Two Early Redware Chamberpots, American, possibly New York State, early 19th century, both of ovoid form with tooled shoulders, one with brown glaze, the other with blackish glaze. Both excavated in New York State privies. Brown-glazed example with restored handle, wear to rim, base chips, and an in-the-firing line at base. Black-glazed example broken into pieces and reglued, with repairs to rim, and wear to handle. H (of larger example) 7" ; Diameter (of larger example) 9".
