Rare Five-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Elaborate Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "R.W. RUSSELL," Beaver, PA, mid 19th century, ovoid cooler with heavily-tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, the base with rectangular bung hole embellised with faux screwheads. Front of cooler decorated with a large fuchsia design extending across the front. Additional cobalt highlights to bung hole and handle terminals. Excellent form and decoration, Missing pedestal base. Two chips to one handle. Some minor fry to cobalt.
