Scarce Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA.," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooling to body and collar, decorated with three drooping flowers around the midsection and leaves around the collar. Base impressed with R.C.R. mark. Restoration to spout. Restored rim chip. In-the-firing chip / contact mark to midsection. 3" Y-shaped hairline at base on reverse, connecting to some very faint lines on underside. An additional faint 1 3/4" line at base on reverse, continuing a short distance onto underside.
