Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Star Decoration, Manhattan or New York State origin, possibly Egbert Schoonmaker, Kingston, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt star at the shoulder and cobalt highlights to the handle terminals. A few minor base chips. A tight crack starting at left edge of upper handle terminal, and descending a few inches under handle. Handle is still intact.
