Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "PAUL : CUSHMANS," Paul Cushman, Albany, NY origin, circa 1810, ovoid jug with footed base, tooled spout, and ribbed handle, decorated with a cobalt band across the large coggled mark "PAUL : CUSHMANS". Additional cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent form and color. Heavy chipping to base. Large sealed crack on right side of jug, curving towards and touching the "M" in "CUSHMANS". Tight 5 1/2" vertical line on front. Two in-the-firing pings to body. Some traces of old blue paint to base.
