Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Freehand Cobalt Decoration, attributed to A. & W. Boughner, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, applied lug handles, and incised circumferential banding. Front decorated with a visually-appealing design of three leaves surrounding a script "3". Shoulder decorated with a straight and wavy cobalt stripes and freehand vining. Excellent condition with a nick to end of one handle and a small chip to shoulder molding.
