Extremely Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Decoration of a Squirrel Eating a Nut, Stamped "S. BOSWORTH / HARTFORD, CT," circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tall spout, decorated with a folky slip-trailed design of a bushy-tailed squirrel eating a nut. Chip to side of spout. 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" chip to underside at edge of jug. Base chip on reverse. An additional much-smaller spout chip and a minor spout nick.
