Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Southeastern PA origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a swag and hanging flower design around the shoulder on the front and back. Additional swags under each handle. Very nice condition. Chip and crack to one handle. One chip to interior of rim and a small chip to exterior of rim. 2" dry spot (in-the-firing contact mark) to side of jar.
