Unusual Glazed Pottery Jug, probably Northeastern U.S. origin, late 19th century, cylindrical jug with rounded shoulder and semi-squared spout, the surface covered in a greenish celadon glaze. Similar examples of redware with a celadon glaze, sometimes referred to as "faux stoneware," were produced in NY State (among other places) during the 19th century. This example, however, appears to actually be made of high-fired stoneware clay. Excellent condition. H 9".
