Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Edgefield, SC origin, mid 19th century, approximately three-or-four-gallon ovoid jug with finely-tooled spout and ribbed handle, the surface covered in a streaky greenish alkaline glaze. Shoulder incised with three small punctuates. Provenance: Ex-Collection Terry Ferrell. Some scratches and in-the-firing, glazed-over lines to surface. Base chip. Hairline in handle. Small piece of kiln residue adhered to surface.
