Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Dove Decoration, Stamped F.B. NORTON SONS, / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt dove perched on a leafy branch. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Painted touch-up to fry on cobalt. Top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse. Wire around top of crock. Small base chip. Streaks of light staining to surface. H 9".
