Rare Albany Slip Glazed Stoneware "PEACHES" Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / STONEWARE / MANUFACTURER / Manhattan-Wells / NEW-YORK," circa 1815, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and narrow opening, impressed on one side with the word "PEACHES" and on the opposite side with a Clarkson Crolius, Sr., maker’s mark. Surface covered in a streaky brownish Albany slip glaze. Preserve jars made at the Crolius pottery are considered difficult-to-find. 1 3/8" rim chip. Small stone pings to surface. A few in-the-making base chips. H 11".
