Rare Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N CLARK & CO / MOUNT MORRIS," New York State origin, circa 1835-1846, highly ovoid jug with rounded spout and applied handle, decorated with a large brushed cobalt flowering plant design. Brushed cobalt "4" above decoration. Excellent color, form, and decoration. As-made condition with in-the-firing crazing at base and a 7/8" in-the-firing chip on top of handle. H 17 1/4".
