Ovoid Stoneware Jug, Stamped "W. STATES," Stonington, CT origin, circa 1825, approximately one-gallon ovoid jug with tooled spout and thick handle, decorated with cobalt across the maker's mark and at the ends of the handle. Includes antique wooden stopper. Spout chips, including a large glazed-over spout chip. Small base chips. Firing flaws including a 1/2" stone ping on side. H 12 5/8".
