Two Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, an ovoid two-gallon jug, stamped with the cobalt-highlighted maker's mark "THOMPSON & CO. / GARDINER," Maine origin, paired with a two-gallon jug with slip-trailed cobalt foliate design. Thompson jug with dryness to surface, and a stone ping and some crazing to midsection. Slip-trailed jug with base chips, handle chip, a few spout nicks, and a large crack extending from base to shoulder. H (of slip-trailed jug) 14 3/8".
