Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Unusual Form, New York State or Midwestern origin, mid 19th century, vase-like stoneware jar with bulged midsection, tapered shoulder, and flared rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower with leaves extending from the base of the stem. Essentially mint, as-made condition with a few tiny base chips and a 1" base chip, all of which may have occurred in the jar's production. H 10".
