One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Profuse Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, bulbous jar with tooled foot, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated with large brushed cobalt drooping floral design on the front and back. Additional drape-like brushwork under each handle, along with heavy cobalt circles around the handle terminals and highlights above each handle. 1 3/4" loss to one handle. A few very minor rim nicks. In-the-firing, glazed-over base chip. H 10 1/2".
