Very Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Jug Cooler, Baltimore, MD, circa 1840, approximately six-gallon stoneware jug-form cooler with tooled spout, ribbed handle with upswept terminal, and rectangular bung hole, decorated with a two-stemmed cobalt clover plant extending from the bung hole. Highly unusual form. Includes original wooden spigot, impressed "PALMER'S STANDARD / NO. 8" and "BUTTERNUT KEY." Chipping to spout molding. Lines in underside. Recessed contact mark on top of handle. H 19".
