Scarce Gallipolis, OH Stoneware Advertising Jug, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with straight and wavy cobalt stripes and the advertising "STOCKHOFF & BROS. / DEALERS IN / GEN'L MD'SE AND / PURE OLD BOURBON & / RYE WHISKIES. / GALLIPOLIS, OHIO." Some fry to cobalt. Faint T-shaped line at base, continuing onto underside. Tiny chips and wear to spout. H 11 1/4".
