Stoneware Wax Sealer, Stenciled "GEO. JOHNSTON. / CLARKSBURG / W. VA.," circa 1875, with flaring base, sloping shoulder, and wax sealer rim on interior of opening, decorated with a stenciled flower or leaf between George Johnston maker's stenciling. Two base chips. Cracks at base, one of which extends up front of jar approximately 5". H 8 1/4".
