Ten-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Stenciled Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "T.D. HARDEN. / PALATINE W.VA," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, cobalt-decorated with a large stenciled federal eagle holding a banner and clutching arrows in both talons. Stenciled "10" with flourishes at base. 18 1/2" vertical crack from rim on reverse. 1 1/4" in-the-firing separation line to one handle, along with a small nick to same handle. Chip to opposite handle. H 19 3/4".
