Very Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Fish Decoration, American, late 19th century, approximately one-gallon stoneware cream jar with semi-squared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fish with large eye, its upper body decorated with curved vertical stripes and lower body decorated with wavy horizontal stripes. The color of the jar and use of a slip-coated surface are consistent with stoneware made south and west of New York State. Excellent decoration. Near mint condition with a few minor base chips on reverse. H 7 5/8".
