Scarce Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, straight-sided crock with rounded rim, profusely-decorated with a large open-handled basket overflowing with flowers, leaves, and dotted trails. Excellent color, size, and decoration. Missing both handles. Scattered flaking. 6" crack from rim. A few minor chips on interior of rim. H 13".
