Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1885, straight-sided crock with rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed and slip-trailed cobalt floral design. Heavy fry to cobalt. Restoration to right side of crock, including paint covering the handle. 6 1/2" hairline under left handle. 3" hairline at base continuing onto underside, where it spreads. Separation crack from rim on reverse, which becomes a 4" faint hairline on reverse. Small chip on exterior of the rim. Three small chips on interior of rim. H 11 1/8".
