Westerwald Stoneware Mug with Incised Decoration and Pewter Lid Dated 1736, German origin, decorated with a detailed incised floral design within a cartouche, flanked by incised leaves. Four impressed rosettes in four corners on the sides of the mug, and incised wavy lines at the base. Pewter lid is incised with the inscription "J S M / AD 1736." Mug also includes a pewter lining to rim. A few small cracks in pewter lid by finial, visible on underside of lid. H (including lid) 8 1/4".
