Rare Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA / D.C.," circa 1835, small-sized, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated completely around with a series of connected brushed cobalt flowers. Highly desirable size. Rim chips. Some in-the-firing contact mark residue to surface. H 7".
