Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO / PA," circa 1875, narrow, cylindrical vessel with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated at the center with a stenciled flying eagle holding arrows. Rim and base decorated with freehand cobalt stripes. 2 1/2" chip to rim on reverse. Two small chips to interior of rim, and light wear to inner flange where a dasher guide would rest. Tiny chip to base on reverse. H 14 7/8".
