Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Horse Head Decoration, Stamped "W. HART. / OGDENSBURGH," New York State origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid jug, decorated with a slip-trailed horse's head with reins and flowing mane, underscored by a looping line design. A desirable Hart decoration. Some fry to cobalt. Spout chip. Base chip on reverse. H 13 1/2".
