Crocker Farm Auction of American Stoneware & Redware

Slip-Decorated Pennsylvania Redware Indian and Stump Bank. Indian fully detailed with head dress and tomahawk, base with coleslaw decoration, and stump with applied vine. Possibly Bucks County, PA, circa 1810. Height 5 3/4". Overall style closely resembles pieces signed "Jacob Fretz," currently in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. From a sixty-year Midwestern collection.
Rare Folk Art Puppet with Miniature Stoneware Presentation Churn. Stuffed cloth marionette puppet with farmer's jacket, painted face, and leather hair, beard, and shoes. Accompanied by a miniature stoneware churn with scalloped base, incised "L R," probably NY State origin. Situated on a bluish-green painted plinth with blue cloth trim. Circa 1850. Total Height 18". Height of Churn 4". Includes tag, which reads, "Handmade mechanic toy belonged to Lydia Rogers (her initials appear on back of churn) bought from Rogers house dating 1843. Rogers Shopping Mall now stands on estate. Grand Rapids, Mich." From a sixty-year Midwestern collection.

Unusual sea green glaze and exceptional, lightly-used condition. From a sixty-year Midwestern collection.
Exceptional Shenandoah Valley Slip-Decorated Redware Plate with Strasburg flowerhead and
crossed chainlink decoration. Bell or Eberly. Diam. 7 3/4". From a sixty-year Midwestern collection.

Attributed to Anthony Bacher, Adams County, PA, circa 1855. Height 6 3/4".
