Unusual Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher of unusual form with footed base, tooled shoulder, and short, flaring collar, decorated with two brushed foliate designs at the spout and three of the same design around the midsection. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 1 1/4" flake to underside at edge. A smooth in-the-firing contact mark to front. H 8 3/8".
