Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H. MYERS", Henry Remmey, Sr. or Jr. at Henry Myers's Baltimore Stoneware Manufactory, Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, cylindrical jar with footed base, rounded shoulder, and squared rim, decorated with a boldly-brushed swag-and-hanging-flower motif. Impressed with "H. MYERS" merchant mark below a two-gallon capacity mark at shoulder. Strong decoration with exceptional color. Essentially as-made condition. A few minor base chips. A 1 1/2" in-the-firing surface chip / contact mark near base. A 1 3/8" in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder area. Some bubbling to cobalt.
