Fine Six-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Washington County, GA origin, circa 1840, thin-walled, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, the surface covered in a streaky green alkaline glaze. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. A 2" chip to rim above one handle. A minor rim nick. Very minor chipping to base, possibly in-the-firing. H 17 5/8".
